Xenon Strobe Beacons

Sep 11, 2024

Xenon strobe beacons are a very popular choice of beacon as they produce a very sharp flash of light. They work by discharging the energy stored in a capacitor though a special flash tube filled with xenon gas to produce a very short burst of high intensity light.

A typical xenon strobe beacon flashes 60 times per minute and has a clear bulb, so coloured lens are used to produce the required colour.

Xenon strobe beacons can be used over a wide variety of applications as their sharp flash of light creates instant attention. They are ideal in busy environments such as shopping centres, warehouse and airports where evacuations may be required. They are also commonly found on moving vehicles, such as forklift trucks, where it is essential to warn people when a vehicle is moving.
