In response to enquiries from some of our key customers, deegee has modified the XFD product to accommodate a Universal Current.  This opens up new possibilities with this little xenon beacon.

Specified at 24V AC and DC, the unit is otherwise the same, housed in the little D housing, with its 102 mm height and 79 mm base diameter.  With an easy to wire terminal block, and entry to the ABS base via a 10mm cable entry hole, the XFD is very easy to install and maintain.  Offering 360 degree all-round and 270 degree all-over visibility, the XFD packs a lot of punch when it comes to flash intensity per unit size. 

Low voltage mains is a popular choice for air-conditioners, heating and cooling systems, and so to have a warning or status signal which works on this same voltage makes for a much easier installation.  One of the specialities of D. Recognising our position in the aircraft warning sector, orders are now in from our key distributors for the newest in the range, the SBB LED 10 Candela Aircraft Warning beacon.  Officially termed the SBB/*/*/LED/Type A/Red, this little beacon meets the ICAO regulations for low level intensity warning of aircraft.  Being a 360 degree viewing enclosure, the SBB Type A uses different LEDs from the larger SBE and SBG Type A products, offering a higher light intensity per LED, and meaning that the required brightness levels are met within the much smaller series B enclosure.

Series B is an IP65 rated enclosure, pre-moulded with M10 and M20 cable gland entries.  The lens fits with a specially designed O-ring and tightens on a bayonet-style fitting, securing with a tamper screw  into a blind hole.  Carefully designed to minimise dust and dirt build-up, and fully water-tight, Series B is perfectly suited to the outdoor environment, and with long-life LEDs, makes maintenance a thing of the past.

Using the low profile Series R enclosure from the deegee brand, PSR/*/*/LED-FIRE is a high-intensity, low-current L.E.D. warning beacon ideal for use with fire-alarm systems. Using high-intensity L.E.Ds. the beacon can achieve an effective luminous intensity of up to 115 Candela.

With a standard beacon flash rate of 60 flashes per minute, one of two synchronising modes (/SYNC) can be selected at time of installation using a jumper link.

In /SYNC mode 1 the units are connected in a network (output of beacon 1 to input of beacon 2 and so on) and all beacons will synchronise to beacon 1. In /SYNC mode 2 all beacons respond to a 5mS break in the power supply. This makes PSR/*/*/LED-FIRE perfect for use either individually or in a run for instance down a corridor, where synchronisation is essential to reduce stress on individuals during an emergency.

The systems designer can ensure that the unit is operated with maximum energy efficiency by selecting one of four brightness modes most appropriate to the application – 45Cd, 60Cd, 75Cd or 115Cd (default setting) – by way of two on-board jumper links. 

The Series R enclosure is perfect for public and office installation.

Now that the Series C range of beacons and sounders is formally launched, deegee has followed up in quick succession with the Series B!

Using the ABS Base of the Series C, the Series B is just that bit taller, using a brand new higher dome.  This allows for a different type of electronics inside, such as the best-selling 360 degree viewing LED range from deegee,  which includes a 10cd aircraft warning beacon compliant with the ICAO Low Intensity Warning Beacon standard.

The model range also includes the following beacon technologies:

The new Series C beacon range from the deegee brand is perfectly styled for office and public area use.

At only 85cm tall, Series C comprises a robust ABS Base and a Polycarbonate lens.   The circuitry is fixed to the lens assembly, allowing easy fitting of bases and wiring during installation, and retro-fitting of the electronics and lenses.
 
Lens assemblies fit to the bases by bayonet fitting with an O-ring seal, and secure in place with a single securing grub screw.  With no other external fixings, and all connections between enclosure parts protected by O-rings, Series C is certified to IP65 ingress protection, making it suitable for indoor or outdoor use. 

The full range of deegee technologies fit the Series C enclosure, including LED, Xenon, Filament, and Indicator Signs such as Cross, Arrow and No Entry.  AC and DC voltages across the ranges are available on most models, as are the full complement of deegee colours of Red, Amber, Green, Blue and Clear.

A single MFE LED beacon can give 8 different warning signals, switchable externally.  Offering pulsed, wig-wag and chasing patterns, in several styles and flash rates, these beacons are well-suited to applications where low current draw is essential, the AC version drawing just 26mA at 230V and 45mA at 115V.

Available as a dual-voltage 115/230V AC and 12/24V DC unit, and in colours red, amber, green, blue and clear, the MFE is extremely versatile.  The ABS base with polycarbonate lens is rated to IEC Protection Class IP65, making MFE equally effective in indoor, outdoor and dusty environments.

 

Whilst the Deegee range includes both LED and xenon units, it is the xenon TXV/AC/230/TRA which has been selected for many of the major construction projects in Singapore, thanks to Deegee’s local distributor Sin Hai San Enterprise. Detecting the incoming AC ring signal, the TXV xenon beacon repeatedly triggers in time with the ring.

The V Housing for this product is a heavy duty polycarbonate, with a polycarbonate coloured lens.

The Deegee telephone activated beacons are available in other housings within the Deegee portfolio, including an explosion-proof LED variety.

This ultra-low current TP/DEX/LED beacon is driven entirely from the incoming ring signal, eliminating the need for an external power source.

Rated to IEC Protection Class IP66 and ATEX certified, the TP/DEX/LED is well-suited to extreme rugged Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas.

These are particularly suitable for alarm systems where power is at a premium. All models incorporate a pulsed ring of high intensity red LEDs behind a red translucent polycarbonate sounder horn. The integral 110dB(A) sounder has 32 tones, selectable by internal DIP-switches, with the primary tone energised by a simple 2-wire connection and a secondary tone via a third wire.

Maximum volume can also be adjusted by internal preset.

Two basic housing styles are available.

The standalone ISB-E is built upon the same white ABS base as the popular Series E ‘High Dome’ beacon lamps to retain the traditional look-and-feel of this long-established range of visual indicators.  The ISB-E is also compatible with existing wall-mounting brackets and cage guards.

The ISB-T utilises the same black polycarbonate base as the Series T, U, V and W beacons, with its novel ‘ratchet’ linking system which allows two or more beacons and/or sounders to be clamped together as an integrated unit.

Versions for all popular supply voltages are offered: 12V DC, 24V DC, 115V AC and 230V AC.

For years public building fire alarm installers have met both technical and user perception obstacles when applying visual alarms. DG Controls has overcome pressure group fears and concerns of epileptic attacks perceived as possible by the use of xenon strobe beacon lamps in fire alarm and evacuation systems.

Conventional rotating mirror beacons, while a preferred alternative, cause installers expensive powering problems.

Rotating beacon lamps have until now often been technically difficult to apply because of high current draw, whereas xenon strobe beacon lamps apparently overcame such problems.

The deegee model RFL rotating flashing beacon brings all the advantages of the sweeping rotating beam of light, but with a current draw below 1Amp at 24V DC, bringing it well within the scope of most fire alarm panel power supply units.
Early authorities to adopt these beacon lamps were the London Boroughs, where upgrading and initial fire installations at schools started the recognition of the advantages to both end users and installers alike.

This trend is spreading beyond the boundaries of London Boroughs to other areas of the country, where concerns over high inrush currents of good visibility synchronised flash xenon strobe beacon lamps, and perceived potential of hazards for epileptics have been overcome.

The RFL rotating flashing beacon lamp incorporates a high intensity halogen lamp and motor-driven revolving reflector.

A range of installation accessories is available, including protective cage guard and wall mounting brackets.

The beacon has a weatherproof injection-moulded housing, with a polycarbonate freznel dome lens that enhances light transmission.

Fitted with a red lens for fire installations, four other ex-stock lens colours are available.
